Energy Healing

Usui Reiki Healing

What is Reiki, what to expect  and what are the Benefits.

The Japanese word REIKI is a combination of two elements REI and KI

REI carries the meaning of 'Universal' or 'Present everywhere'. In combination with other syllables, it connotes a spiritual principle.

KI is the 'Life force' or 'Vital energy'. It has the same meaning as the Chinese 'Chi' or Indian prana' It is the non-physical vitality that gives life to all living things and this life energy flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and by having a healing treatment, it allows the body to start healing itself. It is believed that a person’s “ki, Chi” or energy should be strong and free flowing, so that a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental and emotional.

What a treatment is like

Reiki is a hands on or above treatment and a Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair.

Reiki assists in the body's natural healing processes and develops emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. It is also said to induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress and improve overall wellbeing.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. People report that after a treatment they have a good nights sleep and feel relaxed and more at peace.

Reiki is a simple and natural healing method. It is both gentle and powerful and brings wholeness to the giver as well as to the receiver. It is an ancient hands-on technique and has no formal connection with any religion, cult, dogma or human belief system.

The Origins of Reiki.......

The origins of Reiki go back to ancient Buddhist scriptures, in which a Japanese priest, Dr Mikao Usui, discovered the symbols and mantras, the formula and key, that became the roots and foundations of the Reiki healing system. Following fasting and meditation on a sacred mountain, he found himself in a state of extended consciousness, in which the meaning and use of symbols and mantras were revealed. He experienced himself being charged with a healing force. Thus the Usui system of Reiki was born.

His tradition and methods were passed through several grandmasters of Reiki. And today, Reiki takes many forms, however, The Usui System of Natural Healing is still the form most widely practiced. Practitioners and Master Teachers are trained through an initiation process where Masters pass on their knowledge and expertise to their students.

A Reiki Session

A healing is usually 60 to 90 minutes long. A discussion will take place during the initial session where the treatment will be explained and where the client has the opportunity to discuss any particular problems or issues they are experiencing and what outcome they are hoping to achieve from their sessions.

The client will rest comfortably on a massage table on their back with their shoes removed. Reiki can be performed with the client sitting comfortably in a chair as well.

A session can either be hands-on, where the hands are just touching the body with a light touch, or hands-off where the hands are slightly above your body. If a client prefers not to be touched they can indicate this before the treatment begins.

A recipient of Reiki might feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all but sheer relaxation.

Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Many people use Reiki for wellness. Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but it may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings.

Many times a client after experiencing Reiki treatments, will wish to learn Reiki to work with this energy themselves. This can be beneficial as they may then use this stress reduction and relaxation tool anytime they wish. The knock on effect is that when you change yourself, you change others and your environment.

Seichim Healing

An Egyptian Healing System

Seichim healing has its origins in Egypt and was the place it was recently ‘rediscovered’.

Seichim healing like Reiki healing, does not advocate any belief system religious or otherwise. It is what it is, without prejudice or preconceptions. Seichim healing began much like Reiki with an instantaneous initiation into the energy, this time by Patrick Ziegler in the great pyramid of Egypt. He connected with the Seichim energy through his heart chakra by way of the infinity symbol (horizontal figure eight). Patrick also had further Sufi initiations whilst still in Egypt and went back to the US and began to harness and spread this healing energy to others. Since then it has gone world wide and has expanded into all cultures and traditions and it is often combined with Reiki healing and other healing modalities.

Like Reiki it is also ‘received’ by practitioners like a radio signal and transmitted through the practitioner’s crown, out their hands and into a person’s body. The hands may also be placed over the chakra areas within the energy field.

Seichim is the Sanskrit word for Sekhem and although both mean the same such as power of powers, might, or living light energy, the energy connects with our higher selves to establish healing in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The energy is used to heal and stimulate personal development and growth. Spellings of the word differ but it always means power in a spiritual sense.

Seichim is very good for matters of the heart and emotions, anxiety, depression, stress and can help with bereavement as it brings strength through with healing. Seichim is a living light energy meaning it is of a high vibration, which is most beneficial for working with emotional and mental levels or concerns, as well as that higher spiritual connection. It can help with anxiety, tension and emotional trauma as it works on all the levels of the aura simultaneously. As it works on all levels, it clears a path to get to the root causes of imbalances. For example, it may begin to work on your energetic system for an energy alignment, balancing the chakras and releasing blockages in meridians. In a place of energy alignment, you may begin to feel an extra burst of energy which may lead to mental clarity and insight. Secondly, Seichim could work on emotional stability restoring balance to reinforce mental clarity and body vitality. This could lead to getting back to your old self (so to speak) and a sense of wellbeing.

Seichim in ancient Egypt

Egypt itself has always been a mystical place and hides its secrets well.

Hieroglyphs (wall paintings) show a type of hands on healing taking place; reflexology and massage have their origins in Egypt and are again depicted on drawings. They reportedly used sound, crystal and colour healing and the pyramids were energy portals. The pyramids of Giza studied by modern engineers and architects still see the construction as an impossibility, even by today’s standards. The alignment and accuracy of the dimensions and precision could not be replicated using modern technology. Seichim energies were used thousands of years ago and longer but have been ready and waiting for such a time that we could appreciate the scope of the energy and accept it into our bodies for use at this stage in our evolution.

Seichim can help areas or situations in life such as traumatic experiences, loss or fears.
